  • 3 oz. (90grams.) cornflour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Tapioca Layer Ingredients:
  • 2 cups grated tapioca (drained of excess liquid)
  • 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup gula melaka (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method for Vegetarian Kuih Talam Ubi Kayu Recipes:
  1. Add some water to grated coconut and squeeze out 19oz. (570ml.) santan/coconut milk.
  2. Mix well all tapioca tapioca layer ingredients with seven oz. (210ml.) santan.
  3. Turn into a greased sq. tray and steam 30-40 minutes. till set.
  4. To prepare santan layer. mix remaining santan with cornflour and salt.
  5. Pour over brown layer and continue steaming, concerning fifteen minutes. till set.
  6. Cool well before cutting into squares to serve.
