Mid Atlantic Christian University Information. churches of christ in eastern north carolina in 1948 were thus wanting ministers that the majority had preaching no more than one or 2 lord‘s days every month. it was actually not unusual for one minister out to serve four or perhaps six churches, preaching for every church once per month, whether or not inside the lords day morning, afternoon, evening or on saturday night. a sizable proportion of one's men, though dedicated, had no biblical faculty preparation. out to answer this want, roanoke bible faculty was conceived throughout early 1948.

the motto of Mid Atlantic Christian University Information: chosen was ― ;a new testament school—set for our defense of one's gospel‖ ; ( phil. 1 :16 asv ). leading this effort was george w. bondurant, employed as evangelist of one's roanoke district churches of christ. mr. bondurant and his wife, the previous sarah presley, had been instrumental in 1937 in organizing atlanta christian faculty in georgia, where he had served as president and she as dietician and each had taught till moving out to north carolina. mr. bondurant became the president of roanoke bible faculty. a certificate of incorporation was received on september 10, 1948.

in 1979, roanoke was accredited from the accrediting association of bible colleges ( currently renamed the association for biblical higher education ). president bondurant retired in april 1986, and william a. griffin was appointed the second president. in 1999, roanoke was accredited from the commission on colleges of one's southern association of colleges and schools ( sacs ). in 2005 eastern christian faculty in bel air, maryland, closed. rbc received a few funds, students, trustees, staff, library holdings and equipment from ecc. mid-atlantic holds the educational transcripts of ecc students and they're invited out to get themselves involved in the activities of one's university.

president griffin concluded 20 years as roanokes president on june 30, 2006 and d. clay perkins, ph. d., became the third president on july 1, 2006. when 2 years of deliberation and analysis, and in consideration of one's desired eyesight and future for our faculty, the board of trustees set to vary the name out to mid-atlantic christian university in march of 2009. in fall of 2010, the university reorganized its educational structure into 2 schools : faculty of undergraduate studies and of course the faculty of skilled studies.
