Ingredients for Vegetarian Steamed Small Cup Sponge Recipes:
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 90g / 3 oz. castor sugar
  • 90g / 3 oz. wheat flour (tepung beras)
  • 70 ml / 1/8 ice cream soda
  • colouring 

Vegetarian Steamed Small Cup Sponge Recipes Method:
  1. Line patty tin with cake cups.
  2. Sift flour. 
  3. Whisk egg until fluffy.
  4. Add sugar and vanilla essence. Whisk until thick and fluffy.
  5. Sift in flour, 0.5 amount at a time and fold in evenly with a metal spoon.
  6. Divide mixture into three parts.
  7. Add colouring and 1/3 ice cream soda to at least one portion of mixture. Fold in evenly.
  8. Fold in remaining ice cream soda into remaining two parts.
  9. Fill plain mixture into cups until 2/3 full.
  10. Add colored mixture on high until nearly full.
  11. Steam spongr for fifteen minutes until cooked, risen and cracked on surface.
  12. Remove from steamer. Leave for 2 minutes before cooling on rack.
